This picture was painted when this beautiful lady was in her mid-eighties, so it was done mostly from the picture on the left. The Reverend mother wanted it done with her eyes open wider and an inside veil, not the veil the nuns wear when they go outside the monastery (shown in the black and white picture),but the one they wear inside. The center portrait shows more detail, but the portrait on the right has more of the correct colors in the portrait. The background is the chapel her mother gave to the Carmelite Monastery in Santa Clara. The leaves are Virginia Creeper and are gorgeous in the autumn.
